| Not sure if this is the way to
do it but attached is a great pic of my bike. I've taken a few over the last year but this one just turned out really good. For the record, it's a '78 Standard that was given to me (yep, for free) after sitting around for 6 or 7 years. I went through it from stem to stern fixing many little problems along the way. The motor was good (so far), needing no major work or a tear-down. By the end of my first season on it, I decided to take it to the Finger Lakes BMW Rally, which I usually attend on one of my BMWs. It's about a 130m trip one-way and, I have to admit, the old 650 did just fine. I did, of course, stick to the back roads. Compared to my BMWs, these bikes suck on the highway at sustained high speeds. I'm thinking March or April .... a spark to get the guys out and traveling. Bob. |
